Rebekah Cunningham

I was born in Texas and raised between Texas and California. I made my way to Fairhope Alabama by chance 4 years ago and I am so happy to call this place home. I have been part of The Sanctuary Salon team since October 2014. I have been styling hair and creating with color all my life. It began in bathrooms as a teenager and I have cultivated my skills professionally since 2008. I gained my basic knowledge and education at the Toni and Guy Academy in Dallas, Texas. I then went on to work for Aveda, there I learned the Vidal Sassoon way of cut and style. I have worked in an assortment of situations since then, that has widened my perspective and understanding of the industry. I think every situation is a chance to learn.

As a stylist I take continuing my education very seriously. I am blessed here at The Sanctuary Salon because we are constantly taking time out to learn individually and as a group. We travel to other cities for continuing education as well as hosting educators in salon to give intensive private classes on the most up to date trends. I love the excitement and passion I share with my teammates!

My most recent evolution as stylist has been my approach to doing hair as a whole. After a diagnosis of lung cancer in 2015, I have become vigilant about the chemicals myself and others are exposed to in the salon. I am passionate about taking a Holistic approach to hair. What does that mean? A Holistic approach to involve the mind, body, and soul. I use only clean, non-toxic products that are not only safe for you but also good for the environment. Let’s treat ourselves and our world with some love! I am intent on giving you the best of myself and I hope that reflects in you seeing the best in yourself. I want to give you a hair style that makes you feel confident, beautiful and powerful. Your hair is the one thing you wear daily, and I am here to make sure you love your number one accessory. So if that means taking extra time to teach you how best to style your hair, or giving you a fresh new look that makes you want to take a selfie on the regular, I am your girl. Thanks for taking the time to get to know me. I can’t wait to meet you at our next appointment.
